By installing or using Budgetine, you're agreeing to these terms. There's no account to sign up for and nothing to accept beyond this page, so please read it once, and feel free to email us if anything is unclear.
By using Budgetine, you're agreeing to these terms in full. If any part of this doesn't work for you, the right move is to stop using the app rather than keep using it while disagreeing with how it works. We may update these terms from time to time as the app changes, most often to reflect a new feature or a clearer explanation of an existing one. The version posted here is always the current one, and continuing to use Budgetine after an update means you accept the new version.
Every transaction, budget, account, and goal you create lives on your device, inside Budgetine's own encrypted local storage. We don't run any servers for the app, so there's nothing for us to see, keep a copy of, or hand over even if we wanted to. If your device is lost, stolen, or wiped, we have no backup of your data to recover for you. Turning on optional iCloud sync changes this in one way: your records also get copied into your own private iCloud database, which belongs to your Apple ID and stays out of our reach, so you can restore them on a new device without any involvement from us.
Budgetine is built for tracking your own money, not for running a business, managing client accounts, or reselling access to the app. You're welcome to use it for a side hustle's bookkeeping same as any personal spending, but you shouldn't repackage, resell, or white-label the app itself. Taking apart the compiled app, decompiling it, or modifying its binary in any way isn't allowed either, both to protect the app's integrity and because we can't support a modified copy.
Budgetine helps you plan and track your own budget, but it isn't a financial advisor, tax preparer, or lawyer, and nothing in the app or on this site should be read as professional advice. Category suggestions, spending insights, and on-device AI features are meant to be helpful starting points, not guarantees about your financial situation. Because every number comes from what you enter, we can't be responsible for losses, fees, or missed savings goals that trace back to a typo, a missed entry, or a decision you made based on the app's output. You're always the one in control of your money and your bank.
When you import a CSV or PDF, or scan a receipt, all of that reading and parsing happens on your device using Apple's own frameworks, not a service we run. Bank statement formats and receipt layouts vary a lot, so we can't promise perfect accuracy every time, though we do keep improving how the app reads them. If a scan or import comes out wrong, you can always correct it by hand before saving, and doing so doesn't send anything anywhere.
We hope to keep supporting Budgetine for a long time, but like any small, independent app, we can't guarantee it will be available forever, and we reserve the right to end support or remove the app from the App Store if we ever need to. If that happens, your data stays exactly where it already is: on your device, and in your own iCloud if you've turned sync on, so you're never locked out of what you've entered. Any purchases or subscriptions are billed and managed entirely by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's own terms, and refunds or billing questions go through Apple, not us.
